SOUTH PARIS – Willie Libby took a crossing pass from Matt Gilliam 14 minutes into the first half and buried it into the back of the net to give Oxford Hills a lead they would not relinquish as they handed Gardiner a 2-0 setback in KVAC soccer action Friday afternoon.

Mike Vieira added an insurance goal with 21 minutes left in regulation as he converted a pass from Gilliam to account for the final score.

David Laroche needed only three saves to record the shutout.

Falmouth 8, Gray-NG 0

GRAY – Jimmy Velas and Jordan Hale scored a hat trick apiece to power Falmouth to an 8-0 win over Gray-New Gloucester in boys’ soccer action Friday.

The Yachtsmen (8-0) applied great offensive pressure in the first half, scoring five times before the midpoint. The Patriots (2-4-2) were under fire again in the second half, allowing another three goals.

Goalie Tyler Dowdy made 10 saves for the Patriots, while Ray Baston deflected three for the Yachtsmen.

Dirigo-Buckfield 6

MADISON – Paul Brousseau scored the eventual game-winning touchdown in the first quarter on an 18-yard pass from Justin Watt to lead Madison to a 19-6 win over Dirigo-Buckfield in Class C football.

Matt Stewart ran the first touchdown in from the goal line with Mitch Steward converting the point after for the Bulldogs. Stewart had 20 carries for 63 yards in the win.

Allen Berry ran a fumble recovery four yards into the end zone to give the Bulldogs a 19-0 lead in the fourth quarter.

Jamie Henderson spoiled the shutout when he connected with Scott Wetherall for a 29-yard touchdown pass for Dirigo-Buckfield late in the game.
