1918 – 2003
SANDWICH, Mass. – Therese Levesque Langelier, 85, died Sunday, Sept. 28 at Cape Heritage Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Sandwich, Mass., after a long illness.
Born in Lewiston on July 30, 1918, she was the youngest child of Luc and Alma Levesque. She graduated from Lewiston High School and was employed as a typist until she married. She was married for 49 years to the late Joseph A. Langelier, and lived in West Newton, Mass., Clearwater, Fla., and Greene before moving to Sandwich, Mass.
In Newton, she was an active member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, and a longtime member of the Ladies’ Sodality Society. She and her husband were also involved in the Cursillo Movement. She cherished her religious faith, her children and grandchildren.
She enjoyed making delicious baked treats and sharing them with her friends and neighbors.
Survivors include two sons, Raymond J. and his wife Margaret Langelier of Niskayuna, N.Y., and Paul A. and his wife Eileen Langelier of Oxnard, Calif.; five daughters, Cecile M. Langelier of Santa Cruz, Calif., Diane A. and her husband Ken Gentz of Canton, Mich., Patricia A. Langelier and her husband Richard L. Hill of Chapel Hill, N.C., Denise T. and her husband Ruben Martinez of East Sandwich, Mass., and Marie L. and her husband Ron Manganaro of Beverly, Mass.; 19 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Her sister, Marie Ange Baker of Lewiston, also survives her.
