FARMINGTON – Meghan Ladd drove in the winning goal 23 seconds into double overtime to lift Mt. Blue to a 1-0 win over Mt. Ararat Tuesday in field hockey action.
Ladd received a pass from Heather Groder and advanced to the top of the circle before wristing her game-winner for the Cougars (4-4-1).
Aubrey Ramos made three saves to preserve the shutout. Katie Strout made eight saves for the Eagle’s (2-7) effort.
St. Dom’s 8, Sacopee Valley 1
AUBURN – Erica Dorso paced St. Dom’s with three goals and four assists as the Saints routed Sacopee Valley 8-1 in WMC field hockey action Tuesday.
Caitlyn Rutt recorded a goal and three assists, while Elisha Dorso notched a goal and two assists for the undefeated Saints (9-0). Malley O’Shea, Melinda Hoyt, and Nicole Simon each chipped in with a goal.
Shaila Delea netted the lone unassisted goal for the Hawks (4-4).
Ilissa Vallee made nine saves for the Saints, while Cassie Pepperman stopped 14 shots in the losing effort.
Skowhegan 2, Oxford Hills 0
SKOWHEGAN – Katie Lepage and Megan Cvsevey each netted a goal to lead Skowhegan to a 2-0 win over Oxford Hills.
Malorie Schute was credited with the only assist for the undefeated Indians (9-0).
Carleen Evans made three saves for the shutout, while Val Seams made 10 saves for the Vikings (5-4-1).
Lewiston 3, Lawrence 0
FAIRFIELD – Lauren St. Laurent tallied a quick pair of goals in the first half to lead Lewiston to a 3-0 win over Lawrence in field hockey action Tuesday.
The Blue Devils (3-6) were superb on offense. Nicole Willey’s perfect pass set up St. Laurent for the second goal of the contest. Allison Bleakney added an insurance goal in the second half.
Angie St. Hilaire made three saves and earned the shutout victory in net for Lewiston, while Katie Bech and Heather Miller shared keeper duties with four stops apiece for the Bulldogs (0-9).
Winthrop 4, Jay 2
JAY – Winthrop’s Nicole Emery scored two goals to direct the Ramblers to a 4-2 triumph over Jay in field hockey action Tuesday.
Courtney Gould and Ashley Brooks scored for Jay.
Oak Hill 4, Lincoln 3, OT
NEWCASTLE – Mae Nadeau lifted a deflection into the right corner of the net with 3:48 remaining in overtime to lift Oak Hill to a 4-3 victory over Lincoln Academy in field hockey action Tuesday.
Alison Pierce scored an unassisted goal to give the Eagles a 2-1 lead at the half. Niki Poland lead the Eagles (1-7) offense with a pair of goals in the loss.
Lena Deitrich scored the first two goals for the Raiders (1-7), before Julie Lizotte converted a pass from Jessica Ouellette to end regulation in a 3-3 tie.
Nichole Russell made 12 saves for the Eagles, while Noel Hinkley set aside seven for the Raiders.
Leavitt 2, Camden Hills 1, OT
CAMDEN – Samantha St. Hilaire notched the game-winning goal with 1:17 remaining in overtime to lift Leavitt to a 2-1 win over Camden Hills.
Camden Hills’ Lindsey Clement scored the game’s first goal off a corner late in the first half to give the Windjammers a 1-0 edge.
At 14:29 into the second half, Jen Gondeck scored for the Hornet’s (7-2) off a pass from St. Hilaire to tie the contest at one.
Kristin Schrepper made five saves for the win, while Georgie Smith stopped 14 shots in the losing effort.
Soccer
Rangeley 3, Windham Christian 1
RANGELEY – Ashley Quimby notched a goal and an assist to lead Rangeley to a 3-1 win over Windham Christian in girls’ soccer action Tuesday.
Raina Eustis and Sarah Schrader each chipped in with a goal, while Amber Schinas was credited with a save for the Lakers (5-1-1).
The lone goal for the Warrior’s (0-6) was scored by Jess Taylor in the second half.
Mt. Blue 2, Gardiner 0
GARDINER – Zara Stinson scored both goals to spark Mt. Blue to its first win of the season with a 2-0 victory over winless Gardiner.
Sandy Moloney and Megan Silkman each had an assist for Mt. Blue (1-8). Gardiner goalie Linset Thornton had 10 saves.
York 2, Poland 0
YORK – Stephanie Plaisted and Hailey Blackburn each netted a goal as York beat Poland 2-0 in girls’ soccer action.
Kellie Lajoie and Abby Boone were credited with assists for the Wildcats (7-2).
Lindsay Shumway of York recorded her sixth shutout of the season by stopping only one shot. Casey Darnell made 21 saves for the Knights (2-7).
