Who can use the drop-in program? How does it work?

Anyone who is dealing with issues of sexual violence can use the Drop-In Program. Our staff works with students to help identify their needs while dealing with these difficult issues. Together, staff and student work to ensure that the student is taking the steps they need and want in order to live a healthy life.

Using drop-in is pretty simple.

Often, the easiest way is to get a pass from the Guidance Office or to check with your school’s Health Center about how to access the program. Just simply request a pass to come see the Drop-In Counselor for the time scheduled for your specific school.

We listen…We careWe believe! If i use drop-in, what can i talk about?

You can talk about anything that relates to your struggles with sexual violence. Often survivors find that sexual violence affects other parts of their lives such as:

• Friendships

• Dating relationships

• Relating to family members

• Problems with sleeping

• Eating disorders

• Use of drug and alcohol

• Problems with school work

• Feeling isolated and alone

• Feeling like no one will believe you

Drop-In may not be the best resource for all of these issues but we can help you find the appropriate resources you need. We can also stay in touch with you during tough times and provide support when you may feel as though you are struggling. We are a safe place to come that will not be judgmental.

If you are not attending school, but could use someone to talk with about these issues, call the Sexual Assault Crisis Center directly and ask for Kathy Perry.
