AUBURN – Five different players scored for St. Dom’s as the Saints marched to a 5-1 win over Waynflete in WMC boys’ soccer action Wednesday afternoon.
Eric Rousseau scored the game-winning goal at 10:20 of the first half, converting a crossing pass from Shawn Longley and heading it into the back of the net.
Longley, Jack Lavoie, Josh Dwinal, and Tom Gosellin rounded out the Saints’ (8-1) scoring attack.
Josh Ameroso scored the Flyers’ (2-5-2) lone goal to avoid the shutout.
Rangeley 4, Buckfield 2
BUCKFIELD – Trevor Gray took a pass from R.J. Thompson and drilled it into the back of the net to lift Rangeley to a 4-2 win over Buckfield in boys’ soccer action Wednesday.
Jimmy Goodwin added a pair of goals while Seth Bani rounded out the Lakers’ (5-2-1) scoring. The Bucks’ (4-5) Tyler Campbell and Chris Daily each scored a goal in the setback.
Justin Duchesne turned back 13 shots to record the victory.
Monmouth 4, Winthrop 1
MONMOUTH – Tyler Stanchfield tallied a pair of goals to lead Monmouth to a 4-1 win over Winthrop Wednesday.
Mark Wade started the Mustang (7-2) scoring with a headed ball 26 seconds into the contest off a pass from Josh Boivert. Steve Ward chipped in with an unassisted goal as well. Freshman Tyler Somervile had a strong day at sweeper for the win.
Sean Ralph converted a pass from Jason Dick to score the lone Rambler (4-4) goal.
Wells 3, Poland 2
POLAND – Craig Burnell scored the game-winning goal off a pass from Corey Brown with 1:14 left to lift Wells to a 3-2 win over Poland Wednesday afternoon.
Matt McEvoy and Sam Lindour each added a goal for the Warriors’ (5-4-1) win as well. Burnell also recorded an assist.
The Knights’ (3-6) effort was led by Kevin Young who tallied a pair of goals, while Josh Pomerleau was credited with both of Young’s assists. Nate Oakes made 12 saves in net for Wells, while Max Levine stopped 26 shots for the Poland effort.
