1931 – 2003

WEST PARIS – Esther E. Knapp, 72, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Friday, Oct. 3, at the Ledgeview Living Center. She was a resident of Garland Pond Road in Byron.

Born in Milton, on July 19, 1931, she was the daughter of Llewellyn and Ethel M. (Eastman) Buck. She attended Rumford schools. She owned and operated the Corner Lunch in Rumford and worked for local shoe shops and Forester Plastic Factory.

She enjoyed knitting, playing cards, caring for her flowers and feeding the birds. She also enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and gold mining with her husband. She was at her happiest enjoying nature and viewing wildlife.

She was married in Rumford, on June 17, 1965 to Ernest Lee Knapp whom she made her home in Byron with for over 40 years.

Other survivors include a brother, Elbridge Buck of Milton; sisters, Kathleen Barker of Mexico, Charlotte Rose of Byron and Thelma McKenna of Milton; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her daughter, Lorraine Linda Jones; her parents; and a brother, Floyd Buck.
