FARMINGTON – Maine Mountain Chamber Music will perform at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, in Nordica Auditorium at the University of Maine at Farmington.

Founded in 2002 by Lily Funahashi and Laurie Kennedy, Maine Mountain Chamber Music is committed to bringing guest artists of high caliber to Farmington.

For this concert, they will bring Movses Pogossian, violin, and Mark Votapek, cello, back to Farmington. Pogossian, a prize winner in the 1986 Tchaikovsky International Competition, has performed with the Moscow Philharmonic and the Boston Pops as well as with numerous quartets. Votapek has soloed with the St. Louis Symphony, Sacramento Symphony, Portland Chamber Orchestra, Texas Festival Orchestra and the Lansing Symphony.

The program will include Mozart’s “Piano Quartet in E-flat Major” written in 1786, Martinu’s “Duo No. 1” for violin and cello, and Brahms’ “Piano Quartet in C Minor,” Op. 60.

Admission will be $8 for adults, $6 for seniors and $3 for children. There will be no advance sale of tickets. For more information, people can phone 778-7136.
