While visiting my old neighborhood that I grew up in this past month, I was surprised to see how the streets in Auburn were in such bad need of repairs. I do know that the city of Auburn collects a good amount of taxes for repairs to streets, such as South Main Street, but I do not believe that road has been repaired since I was a little girl. The sidewalks are not any better.

I love to come to Maine for a visit and be proud of my hometown, but not the way the roads are. They can be dangerous.

But I can tell you, the Maine people are still the friendliest people of all states in my book.
