AUBURN – The Auburn Fire Department is observing Fire Prevention Week Oct. 5 to 11.

The fire department will have the following activities during the week: There will be tours of the fire stations located on Minot Avenue (Central Station), Center Street (Engine 5) and South Main Street (Engine 2). Call the on-duty platoon chief at 784-5433, extension 27, for the best time to visit the stations.

During the week the smoke trailer will be set up at selected city schools and will be used during the day for the students of the school and in the evening for the neighborhood and the public.

The trailer will be at Washburn School on Friday, Oct. 10, and open to the public from 6 to 8 p.m.

The Auburn Fire Department will have open house from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18. There will be free pizza and soda, tours of central station, the smoke trailer and safety handouts.

The fire department will not be set up at the Auburn Mall this year as in the past.
