RUMFORD – The Rumford Point Church will hold an ice cream social and game night at the church from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 12. All are welcome. There will be games. Any questions, contact 364-7604.

Fair planned

DIXFIELD – Plans are under way for the St. Joseph’s Church fair to be held on Saturday, Nov. 22, in the basement of the church on Weld Street. There will be wreaths, white elephant table and baked goods. Also, there will be raffle items. Santa will be paying a visit.

There will be a kids corner led by Stephanie Prue, complete with a clown, face painting, crafts and donkey rides, weather permitting. Lunch will be available.

Also, if there are any crafty people looking to make some extra money for the holidays, there will have some tables for rent. The charge is $10 per table. Space is limited so reserve space soon by calling 562-8202.

GOP parade

FRYEBURG – Oxford County Republicans participated in the Fryeburg Fair parade recently. Sen. Susan Collins led the group and was followed by David Hastings III, former Rep. Paul Waterhouse and Caldy Jackson, all candidates for the District 13 senate seat. Also in the parade were Paul Billins, Barbara Robinson, Rep. Arlan Jodrey, Eleanor Jodrey and Becky Kendall.
