STRONG -Dawn Coolong has been named employee of the month at Strong Nursing Home.

Coolong is part of the direct care staff on the day shift. She says she enjoys working at the nursing home because of the residents. “I don’t have children so the residents are my family. I enjoy teaching. It just makes my day when I see that light in their eyes when they learn something new.”

Coolong is being recognized for her organizational skills. Her peers say that not only is she organized to benefit herself, but her organization is intended to benefit the residents as well. She stays on task, always completing her duties efficiently and in a timely manner.

Living in Strong, Coolong spends her spare time raising Shih Tzus. She has seven adult dogs and one bigger dog. Reading, flower gardening and dog grooming are also things that keep her busy.
