1936 – 2003

FARMINGTON – Arlene Beatrice Grover, 67, a resident of Ludden Drive in Jay, died Tuesday morning, Oct. 14, at Franklin Memorial Hospital where she had been a patient for two days.

She was born on April 19, 1936, in Jay, the daughter of Isadore “Pat” and Rita Groleau Gallant. She was a 1955 graduate of Jay High School. On Oct. 12, 1957 she married Clyde H. Grover at St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay. Mr. Grover passed away on Oct. 13, 1990.

She worked at Livermore Shoe Co. for many years and also for the most recent owners, Cole-Haan Shoe Co. in Livermore Falls.

She was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay and a member of the Lane-Dube AmVets, Post 33 Auxiliary of Jay and was also a member of the Hillside Sports Club of Jay. She enjoyed playing cribbage and socializing with her friends.

She is survived by two daughters, Diana Merchant and her husband John of Livermore Falls and Michelle Grover and her companion Dean Jordan of Jay; a brother, Larry Gallant and his wife Becky of Jay; two grandchildren, Joshua and Kelsey Jordan; a stepgranddaughter, Laurel Merchant; and a stepgreat-grandson, Raymond Hedges.

She was predeceased by two sisters, Louise Williams and Sonia Manning.
