1928 – 2003

WELLINGTON, Colo. – Dr. C. Seymour Card Jr. passed away Tuesday, Oct. 7, in Colorado.

Born in South Paris, Jan. 28, 1928, he was the son of C. Seymour and Marion Card. He was a 1947 graduate of Paris High School.

He had a distinguished career as a doctor of veterinary medicine. In 1951 he received a bachelor’s degree in animal husbandry from the University of Maine and in 1955 earned his master’s degree from Cornell University. In 1977 he received his doctorate from Colorado State University.

Dr. Card ran his own private practice in South Clarendon, Vt. He was a professor of veterinary medicine at Penn State University, Colorado State University and the University of Idaho.

In memory of his parents, Dr. Card founded the C. Seymour and Marion Card College Scholarship Fund at Oxford Hills High School in South Paris.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Carolyn; his three children and their families, Candace Solano of Fort Collins, Colo., Deborah Keys of Louisiana, Mo., and Bruce Card of Tucson, Ariz.; sons-in-law, Henry Solano and Bruce Keys; daughter-in-law, Sydney Card; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Albert L. Card of Augusta; and two sisters, Mrs. Robert (Dorothy) Colby of Rockland and Mrs. Robert (Annette) Martin of South Paris.
