JAY – Selectmen completed business in less than 10 minutes Tuesday night after two of the eight agenda items were tabled.
Board members did approve a request from Barry Woods to play 18 musical tapes from the Musicians of Maine on the local government and educational access Channel 7.
Both the proposed amended bylaws for the Fire Department and a request from a business for a tax abatement were tabled.
Town Manager Ruth Marden said the Fire Department’s bylaws need more work. The amended bylaws are expected to be considered at a later date.
A & V Construction Corp. had requested the tax abatement request be tabled, Marden said.
Selectmen also held a public hearing on the updated state guidelines in the town’s general assistance ordinance. Marden said the changes were just a few dollars here and there, up and down.
Selectmen also voted to approve Buck’s Crossing as the name for a private road that begins near the end of Tessier Road.
