1924 – 2003

LEWISTON – Charles R. Dube, 79, a resident of Webster Street, Lewiston, died Friday evening at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center following a sudden illness.

He was born in Lewiston, Jan. 17, 1924, the son of Wilfred and Rose Ouelette Dube. He was educated in Lewiston schools. On Nov. 23, 1944 he married the former Rita Ouellette. Mr Dube was the owner and operator of Dube Gravel Co. in Lewiston for many years, just recently retiring.

He was a communicant of Holy Family Church in Lewiston, a life member Lewiston Lodge # 371 Benevolent Protective Order of Elks, a member of Covenant # 50, and Horizon 55. His hobbies and enjoyments included hunting, fishing and family outings at Moosehead Lake. He will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him.

He leaves his wife, Rita Dube of Lewiston; a daughter, Charlene Bilodeau and her husband, Louis, of Columbia, S.C.; a son, Richard Dube and his wife, Elaine, of Lewiston; eleven grandchildren, Brian Dube, John Dube and his wife, Melanie, Christopher Dube and his wife, Danielle, Shawn Bilodeau and his wife, Michelle, Kevin Bilodeau, Kelley Bilodeau, Carole Bergeron, Rodney Bergeron and his wife, Michelle, Donna Tardif and her husband, Scott, Jennifer Bergeron, and Tom Mower; eleven great-grandchildren, Lauren Chouinard, Brianne Dube, Isabelle Dube, Ali Spacious, Jacob Bergeron, Josh Bergeron, Jillian Bergeron, Nicholas Tardif, Juliana Tardif, Owen Mower, and Serena Mower; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his mom and dad; his daughter, Lorraine Bergeron Moore on Jan. 11, 2000; and a brother Wallace Dube.
