LEWISTON – The St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center Take Charge! program will offer a community screening from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21, in the Fleet Room at St. Mary’s. Call Prevention and Wellness at 777-8898 to make an appointment.

Utilizing a health risk appraisal, screening tools and a combination of individual counseling, group education and awareness programming, Take Charge! aims to promote good health and reduce the incidence of disease in the community.

Under the direction of Dr. Dervilla McCann, Take Charge! uses nationally recognized guidelines to educate and counsel at-risk individuals before they encounter serious medical problems.

The health screening includes complete lipid profile, glucose measurement, pulmonary function profile, blood pressure measurement, immediate customized feedback, referral process to an appropriate physician and supportive education and health change programs.
