The candles are already marketed over the Internet and through selected outlets
LIVERMORE FALLS – Planners gave approval last week for Allicca Torres to run her candle-making business, Pineridge Scents Candle Co., out of her home as a home occupation.
She told planners she would be open by chance or appointment. That will be indicated to customers by the “open” flag. She is producing candles that burn evenly and clean, producing scent, not soot. She said they feature unique scents such as raspberry crisp, hot apple pie and cinnamon bun.
Torres is already marketing her products over the Internet and through selected outlets. She said the cupboards in her entryway are stocked daily.
She plans to set up a sign on her lawn at 93 Park St. for the hours the business is open and remove the sign when it’s closed. The building owner is aware of her business, she said, and she plans to purchase the building when it becomes available.
She presently has two part-time people helping her and only one is on hand at a time, she said. As only four members were present and the code officer was unable to attend, the board did not discuss further business.
