LEWISTON – The United Way of Androscoggin County announces that individuals who wish to contribute may do so through online giving on its Web site, www.unitedwayandro.org.

Online giving provides an opportunity for individuals to contribute using a credit card with an option to indicate that their donation is part of their United Way workplace campaign.

In addition, the United Way online giving provides a choice of one or more ways to designate gifts to specific member agencies or targeted care areas that support children and families, maintain health and safety, maintain elder independence, keep teens on track, increase self-sufficiency or respond to crisis.

Donors can go online to help United Way reach its 2003 campaign goal of $1.8 million.

While visiting the Web site, residents will be able to find out about the health and social service agencies that are funded by their contributions, as well as personal stories about people who have benefited from donors throughout Androscoggin County.

Other information is available throughout the Web site about the campaign fund-raising efforts, volunteer opportunities and community events, and a number of resources for managing workplace campaigns.

Web site visitors will be able to view a list of the membership within the United Way Leaders’ Circle that accounts for more than 24 percent of the total contributions of last year’s campaign. For more information. call 795-4000 or visit www.unitedwayandro.org.
