MEXICO – The River Valley Healthy Communities Coalition is inviting community members to join in a dialogue and survey session about healthy communities and what that means to people as individuals. Two sessions are planned. The first, for Rumford and Mexico residents, will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 27, at the Mexico Historical Society building, 3 Oxford St. The second session, for Dixfield residents, will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28, at the Ludden Memorial Library, 40 Main St.
Hannaford gift certificates will be given to the first 12 community members attending each session. For more information, people can phone the coalition at 364-7408.
Club to thank landowners
RUMFORD – The Rumford Polar Bears Snowmobile Club will hold a landowners’ appreciation night at the Rumford Eagles Hall at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30. There will be a 30-minute reception followed by a 6:30 p.m. chicken Parmesan supper, catered by the Rumford Eagles, which will be free to landowners. Entertainment will be provided by Maine humorist David Kimball.
Bob Meyers from the Maine Snowmobile Association will be on hand to provide information on what’s happening throughout the state. He also will bring information on what is being discussed in the Legislature this year in Augusta.
