NORTH VASSALBORO – Phyllis B. Webber, 78, of the Grey Road, went to be with the Lord Oct. 25, 2003, at her stepson’s home in North Vassalboro.
The daughter of Percy and Ina Pushard Baker Sr., she was born June 8, 1925, in Richmond, and graduated from Gardiner High School. She owned and operated Webber’s Variety Store in Gardiner along with her husband, Carl Webber, who died in 1967. Later she opened Phyllis’ Dress Shop in Gardiner.
Following the death of her husband and mother, she and her father moved to Rangeley.
She was predeceased by her father and mother, Percy and Ina Baker; her husband, Carl Webber; and brother, Percy Baker Jr.
She is survived by her stepson, Richard Webber and his wife, Rita, of North Vassalboro; her sister, Juenita McCarthy of Ocala, Fla.; nephews, Vernon Gillispie of Tenn. and Robert Wyman of Ocala, Fla.; one niece, Pam Chase of Farmingdale.
