AUBURN – April M. Caron, 24, of Auburn, was hospitalized but in good condition Saturday night after she was involved in what police called a dramatic single-car crash.
Caron was driving on Washington Street at a high rate of speed around 4 p.m., according to the police report, when her vehicle left the road. It hit a utility pole and continued moving, crashing into a parked car. Caron’s vehicle continued moving, spun around and finally collided with a sign post.
When emergency personnel arrived at the scene they found her bleeding from the head, the report showed. She was transported to Central Maine Medical Center, where a nursing supervisor said she was in good condition.
Estimated damage to her 1996 vehicle was $12,000, or totaled. The parked vehicle her car struck sustained damages of $3,000. It belonged to Anthony R. Carrier, 28 Deerfield Dr., Auburn.
