FARMINGTON – Dorice Reitchel converted a pass from Kristy Veazie at in the first half for the only goal the University of Maine at Farmington would need as it handed Elms College a 4-0 setback in field hockey action Sunday afternoon.

Angie White, Veazie and Amanda Nimon each added a goal in the win.

Men’s soccer

Husson 3, UMPI 1

BANGOR – Mike Hofman buried an unassisted second-half goal to lift Husson College to a 3-1 win over the University of Maine at Presque Isle in men’s soccer Sunday.

Chris Cacela and Shane Coffin each chipped in with a goal in the Braves’ victory.

The Owls lone goal came on an unassisted shot by Brad Holibrand.

Keene State 3, USM 1

GORHAM – John Harke netted a pair of goals, including the game-winner, to lift Keene State to a 3-1 Little East Conference win over the University of Southern Maine Sunday afternoon.

Harke’s game-winning goal came on a sharp set in the 75th minute of play, as Joey Amaio feathered a pass to a cutting Jason Lombardo who caught Harke with the ball inside the six-yard box for the win.

The Huskies’ (7-8-2) lone goal came from Andy Budelman on a pass from Ian Doumas at 33:21.

Women’s soccer

Thomas 3, Wheelock 2

WATERVILLE – Mary Pratt scored with 1:14 left in the second overtime to lift Thomas College to a 3-2 win over Wheelock College in NAC women’s soccer action Sunday.

Missy White and Jasmine Carey chipped in with a goal apiece to account for the final score.

Husson 3, MMA 2

BANGOR – Husson scored three first-half goals and then held on for a 3-2 win over Maine Maritime Academy in women’s soccer action Sunday afternoon.

Kristin Pelletier, Beatriz DeYcaza and Shane Goode accounted for the Braves’ scoring.

Leah Drew made nine saves on 13 shots to register the victory.

MMA’s goals were scored by Jessica Taylor on a pass from Amy Asselin and an unassisted goal by Jessica Taylor.

UMF 6, Lesley 1

FARMINGTON – Erin Campbell tallied a pair of goals to lead the University of Maine at Farmington to a 6-1 win over Lesley College in women’s soccer action Sunday afternoon.

The Beavers jumped out to a quick 3-1 lead and were never challenged as Hedi Park, Erin Findlon, Julia Malek and Noel Doucette each added a goal in the one-sided win.

Bille Jo Putnam and Patty Boutin combined in goal to register the win.

Baseball

CMCC 9, Maine 7

AUBURN – Josh Bourque’s two-run double in the fifth inning provided the winning runs as Central Maine Community College defeated the club team from the University of Maine, 9-7, to claim the New England College Baseball Association Championship Sunday.

Bourque was 3-for-4 in the game but was just part of a large hit parade.

Ryan Deisaw was also 3-for-4 with a pair of homers and three runs batted in. Nate Olson was 3-for-5, scoring two runs and hitting one home run.

Dustin Longchamps came within one out of pitching the complete game win.

Longchamps walked four and struck out six in his 8 2/3 innings.
