Twila Perkins’ car went off the road, rolled over and come to rest back on the road.

GREENWOOD – An Otisfield woman remained in critical condition Tuesday after a weekend crash, according to a Central Maine Medical Center spokesperson.

Twila Perkins, 22, was flown to CMMC in Lewiston early Saturday morning after being ejected from her car before it rolled over on Greenwood Road, according to Maine State Trooper Daniel Hanson.

He said he was traveling east on Greenwood Road when Perkins, who had her high beams on, straddled the center line forcing him to the shoulder.

“I turned around and went to stop the vehicle, but it was nowhere in sight,” Hanson said. “I came across the accident nine-tenths of a mile later.”

He said Perkins’ 1992 Chevrolet Cavalier convertible had gone off the road, rolled over onto its roof and come to rest back on the road.

Perkins was ejected onto the embankment on the side of the road.

“She was having labored breathing, and she was unconscious,” Hanson said. “Norway Police Officer Shane White arrived to assist me.”

The rollover happened within 100 feet of the Norway town line.

Hanson said Paris Police Sgt. Mike Dailey did the accident reconstruction on the site. Hanson said that it appeared speed and alcohol were factors in the crash.

“There are no charges now,” Hanson said. “All I care about is that she lives.”
