1911 – 2003

AUBURN – Jane L. Hamel, 92, formerly of 45 Old Greene Road, Lewiston passed away Wednesday, Oct. 29, at the Odd Fellows Nursing Home following a long illness.

She was born in Lewiston on Aug. 8, 1911, a daughter of Joseph and Marie (Bosse) Morris.

She attended local area schools. For many years she worked in the local area shoe shops, retiring in 1983.

Mrs. Hamel was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Church and the Lewiston Senior Citizens.

She is survived by her sister, Agnes Whitman of Lackawaxen, Pa.; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Irving R. Winslow, and second husband, Ralph Hamel; her brothers, Louis Morris, Elmo Morris, and Wilfred Morris; and her sisters, Beatrice Pevey, Lena Morin, Irene Everett, Mabel Vaillancourt, and Marie Grace Morris.
