FARMINGTON – A potluck supper was served prior to the October meeting of Farmington Emblem Club 460 to honor the club’s choice of Citizen of the Year 2003, Stephani Ellis of Wilton.
Guests attending with Stephani were her husband, Kyle, her parents Linda and Sonny Dunham, and her sister, Michelle Newcomb, and fiance, Arthur Leavitt. Guests also were Wilton Fire Chief Fred Hyde and Richard Knight, a member of the Farmington Fire Department.
Both men spoke to the Emblem women and guests about Ellis and her involvement with the Wilton Fire Department. Ellis was presented bouquets of flowers from her parents, her aunt, Tami Green, and from Richard Knight. She received a plaque from the Farmington Emblem Club, a fall flower arrangement and a cake made by Emblem member, Doris Drake, that was shared with club members and guests.
Ellis, the club was told, is involved with everything to do with the Wilton Fire Department as well as being a firefighter for the department. She helps with keeping everything and everybody organized, helps with the books, yardwork, and as a sounding board for Wilton Fire Chief Hyde. She is the first one on the scene when anything needs to be done and is always willing to help the department in any way. Ellis works full time at Farmington Wal-Mart and helps with a children’s group in the Jay/Livermore Falls area and she is also a member of the Farmington Emblem Club.
