1928 – 2003

BELFAST – John R. Forbes, 75, of Belfast, died Wednesday, Oct. 29, at his home.

Born Sept. 7, 1928, in Rumford, he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Al Croteau. He graduated from Gould Academy in Bethel. He worked at Rumford Light Co. and later as a telephone lineman for Bell Systems, now known as AT&T. He enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Carolyn Bryant; and a brother, Jerry Forbes and wife Ruth of Rome.
