NORMAN, Okla. – Jason White threw for two touchdowns and ran for another and Oklahoma’s defense was dominant once again in leading the top-ranked Sooners to a 52-9 rout of Oklahoma State on Saturday. In ending a two-game losing streak against the Cowboys, Oklahoma (9-0, 5-0 Big 12) remained on track for the Big 12 title and a spot in the BCS’ national title game.

No. 10 Virginia Tech 31, Miami 7

BLACKSBURG, Va. – Virginia Tech blew the national championship race wide open with the biggest victory in its history, 31-7 over No. 2 Miami.

The Hokies (7-1, 3-1 Big East) got two touchdowns from their defense and another on a 10-yard drive set up by the defense to end Miami’s 39-game regular season winning streak, its 27-game winning streak in the Big East and perhaps its hope for a third straight championship appearance.

LOS ANGELES – Matt Leinart, LenDale White and the rest of the Southern California Trojans showed there’s no doubt who is the best team in the West. Leinart threw three touchdown passes, White ran for 149 yards on 12 carries and No. 3 Southern Cal smothered sixth-ranked Washington State 43-16 Saturday.

OXFORD, Miss. – Eli Manning threw for 391 yards and three first-half TDs and No. 20 Mississippi withstood a late 28-point outburst to beat South Carolina 43-40.

No. 21 N. Illinois 48, Ball State 23

DEKALB, Ill. – Michael Turner had three TDs and ran for 126 yards in No. 21 Northern Illinois’ 48-23 victory over Ball State.

No. 24 Minnesota 55, Indiana 7

MINNEAPOLIS – Laurence Maroney and Marion Barber III each topped 100 yards for the second straight game and both scored a TD to lead No. 24 Minnesota to a 55-7 rout of Indiana.

It was the most lopsided Big Ten win for Minnesota since a 55-7 victory against Iowa on Nov. 5, 1949.

Maroney led the way with 164 yards, while Barber had 107 to give him 995 on the season. Against Illinois last week, the two had 179 and 129 yards, respectively.

Fullback Thomas Tapeh added 65 yards and two touchdowns.

No. 25 Pittsburgh 24, Boston College 13

BOSTON – Larry Fitzgerald set an NCAA record with a touchdown catch in his 14th straight game and tailback Jawan Walker caught a TD pass and threw for another to lead No. 25 Pittsburgh to a 24-13 win over Boston College.

Fitzgerald caught a 35-yard TD pass from Walker for the clinching score in the fourth period. The touchdown came moments after Pittsburgh (6-2, 3-0 Big East) took a 17-13 lead when Walker turned a screen pass by Rod Rutherford into a 47-yard touchdown.

Rutherford completed 24-of-37 passes for 329 yards. Fitzgerald finished with seven catches for 156 yards.

Derrick Knight carried 19 times for 119 yards, giving him consecutive 1,000-yard seasons for Boston College (5-4, 1-3).
