I’ve read books a lot of books by journalists and watched a lot of speeches on television.

They all describe the manipulation of intelligence, and the pressure put on honest intelligence officers to fulfill the Bush administrations desire for a preemptive war against Iraq. Are all of these reputable journalists and authors liars? I think not.

I am mostly disappointed in Colin Powell because he caved into the “chicken hawks.” Is it because his son, Michael, is FCC chairman, and he wished to turn over all of our media to a few media moguls?

The media doesn’t write about the devastation to retirement and savings because of Bush’s tax policies.

In “Bushwhacked,” Molly Ivins writes about Colin Powell calling Christine Todd-Whitman, former EPA chairwoman a “wind dummy” (dropped from a combat plane to see which way the wind is blowing).

Some of the Democrats in Congress are “wind dummies” instead of protecting the poor, the environment and our children from hunger. They go the way Bush blows, like sheep without a shepherd.

I am tired and outraged by Republicans and the media saying: “Democrats are pro-choice.”

I am a Democrat and have been for over 50 years. I am a pro-life, Roman Catholic, against abortion, the death penalty, assisted suicide, believe in treatment and education in prison for the young and life in prison for those beyond rehabilitation.

Republicans are not pro-life. They are against abortion, but once born, parents and babies fend for themselves.
