MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) -The Manchester Monarchs got three-point efforts from Mike Cammalleri and John Tripp on Saturday to defeat the Portland Pirates 5-1.

The Pirates scored on their second shot when Trent Whitfield grabbed the puck behind the net and poked in a rebound. The Monarchs came back with three goals of their own in the period. Manchester tied the game on a Cammalleri shot, then Ryan Flinn blasted a slap shot by Maxime Ouellet for the game-winner. Tripp extended the Monarchs’ lead to 3-1 when he put a rebound by Ouellet.

The Monarchs extended the lead 59 seconds into the third period when Cammalleri scored his second goal off a feed from Bryan Muir.

Minutes later, Steve Kelly put a bouncing puck behind Matt Yeats who had just replaced Ouellet in net for the Pirates.
