1930 – 2003

Auburn – Doris W. Bennett, 73, of Auburn died Saturday, Nov. 8.

Born in Turner on March 21, 1930, she was the daughter of Raymond and Doris Robinson Washburn.

On Oct. 6 1956, she married Thomas Bennett to whom she was married for 47 years. She was educated in Auburn schools, graduating from Edward Little in 1947.

Prior to her retirement, she worked at Snow’s Appliance as a bookkeeper, and earlier in her life as a secretary at the YWCA. After her retirement she was a volunteer at Central Maine Medical Center for many years, and was also a 50-year member of Steven Mills Grange.

Besides her husband, she is survived by one son, Stephen and his wife Marsha Bennett of Auburn; one daughter, Donna and her husband David Walter of Auburn; three grandchildren, Lauren and Audrey Bennett, and Bethany Walter, all of Auburn.
