OXFORD – American Legion Post 112 recognized special guests for journalistic excellence at a recent meeting.

A certificate of appreciation was presented to Jim Smedley of the Sun Journal in recognition and appreciation of outstanding local community news reporting of American Legion’s Boy State Program and Boy Scout and Cub Scout involvement in community programs which contributed to the advancement of the American Legion’s programs and activities.

Also cited was Bill Van Tassel of Turner Publishing Inc. for coverage of the Post 112 Summer Concerts in the Park Program.

Also recognized was Brent Stevenson of Service Master which supplied a dance floor at the summer concerts in the Veterans Memorial Park at Post 112 home on Route 121.
