GREENWOOD – Military veterans along with their families and guests will gather Tuesday, Nov. 11, at the Jackson-Silver American Legion Post in Locke Mills to remember those who have given their lives to guarantee freedom.

The program will begin at 9 a.m. at post headquarters on the Gore Road with opening remarks by Commander Dan Grover, followed by prayers by Chaplain Rodney Hanscom.

Also included in the program will be patriotic music performed by Bethel’s community band, the Mahoosuc Music Makers, and a tribute to all veterans, living and dead, by the American Legion Auxiliary.

Present for the ceremonies will be firemen from Woodstock and Greenwood, and representatives from local Boy, Cub and Girl Scout troops.

The colors will be presented by the color guard from the Jackson-Silver American Legion Post and the post’s firing squad will offer a 21-gun salute to close the program.

After the program, refreshments will be served.
