JAY – A Farmington teenager was charged Saturday after he crashed his truck into a parked firefighter’s truck on Morse Hill Road. The 17-year-old was allegedly operating under the influence, police said.
Firefighters responded to a report of a Central Maine Power Co. electric line on a tree on Saturday, and they had parked their vehicles on the side of the road, police Chief Larry White Sr. said. The teen was traveling at an “imprudent speed” and struck firefighter George Brown’s truck, White said.
Brown’s 1995 truck had about $7,000 damage to it, White said. And the teen’s 1995 Chevrolet S10 pickup truck also had several thousand dollars worth of damage, he said.
Police tried contacting the boy’s parents but they were out of town, White said.
The teenager was taken to a facility in Augusta, he said.
