BETHEL – Boundary maintenance will be discussed at Saturday’s Western Maine chapter meeting of the Small Woodland Owners Association of Maine

Maine State Forester Merle Ring and licensed forester and surveyor Fred Huntress will present the program beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, at Ernest Angevine’s woodlot. There will be a before and after section, along with handouts and information on boundaries for woodland owners.

The lot, the first of two that will be examined, is more than two miles up North Road off Route 2. The airport and Bethel highway garage also are on North Road. The association will post signs to direct the way.

“Probably the most important first step for any woodland owner is to establish the boundaries and keep them maintained,” Ring says.

Coffee and doughnuts will be available at 8:30 a.m.

For further information, people can contact Bill Haynes at 583-2963 or forest@maine.com. The meetings are open to everyone.
