JAY – Police are investigating the theft of $1,500 in tools stolen from the back of truck parked at a construction parking lot at Jay Plaza. It’s the second major theft within a month.

A tool box containing the tools would have needed to be rolled off the truck because it was heavy, Jay police Chief Larry White Sr. said.

Officer Steve Smith is investigating the incident that occurred in a lot used by construction workers transported to work at International Paper.

An all-terrain vehicle was stolen from a truck parked at the lot last month.
