Mrs. Kellie Whitten is the art teacher at Elm Street School. Both of her parents were teachers while she was growing up. In seventh grade she decided that she would be a teacher too, an art teacher.

Her favorite part of teaching is the kids, but there are down sides. Misbehavior really upsets her. Kindergartners are her favorite class to teach. The reason? “Because they like everything,” says Whitten.

Mrs. Whitten’s favorite style of art is impressionism. This is the tenth year she has been teaching at Elm Street School. Every year she puts together an Art Show for Union 29 every year. It is held the Thursday after April Vacation.

“She is never too busy when students need help,” says an ESS parent of two. “My kids love her!” In conclusion, three out of three students think that Mrs. Whitten is one of the most loved teachers at Elm Street School.
