Many of us in this Franco-American community may not be able to pronounce a German name, such as Aschauer. I know I wasn’t. Regardless of the foreign name, Sarah Aschauer is a part of this community now. She is one of two new guidance counselors at Lewiston High School and we welcomed her with open arms. 11 Is.

Sarah was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, graduated from the University of Kansas. After which, she taught English and Literature in Kansas and New York. Prior to becoming a counselor at Lewiston, she worked at the Leavitt High School.

Despite some poor perceptions by the community, she thinks Lewiston High School is great.

“The students and staff have been very friendly,” she added. Accompanied by a great staff and student body, what’s not. to like? Well, she admits that the tedious paperwork and schedule changes are a pain, but the positives of working here make up for that. She enjoys talking with the students here and looks forward to what is to come.

In her spare time, playing tennis and sailing are two other favorite hobbies. As an avid hockey fan, she will now have to worship the Boston Bruins, instead of her hometown Chicago Blackhawks.
