Update your skills, discover a new talent, chart a career path, or take a class for fun at your own pace and at your convenience!! To accommodate busy adults who cannot always leave their homes or places of business to take the classes they want or need, Lewiston Adult Education now offers more than 200 classes through the ed2go online class network. These classes are affordable, user-friendly, and facilitated by instructors who are experts in their fields. Course topics include the Internet, computers, test and certification preparation, design and new media, certificate programs, writing, personal enrichment, business startup, business administration and management, legal issues, and courses for teachers and health care professionals. Some courses are also offered in Spanish. New classes are added on a regular basis.
Most ed2go courses run for six weeks and consist of 12 lessons. New sessions begin each month. Interactive quizzes, assignments, tutorials, and online discussion areas are available via the web, and supplement each lesson. Read your lessons and ask questions of your instructor at the times most convenient for you.
Student feedback has been excellent. A student who took the Creating Web Pages class said, “Being of the older generation, I had qualms about taking this course at home, but I enjoyed the course and felt that help was always available. I got a lot out of this course and will continue on to the next step.”
Let technology help you achieve your goals! All you need to get started is Internet access, an email address, and a web browser. Some courses require the purchase of software. Most courses cost between $49 and $69. A complete list of courses and registration information can be found online at www.ed2go/lewme or call Lewiston Adult Education at 795-4141.
