1933 – 2003

RUMFORD – Mary Edna “Sally” Arsenault, 70, of Mexico, passed away unexpectedly on Nov. 19, at the Rumford Community Hospital.

She was born in Chatham, New Brunswick, Canada, April 27, 1933, a daughter of Arthur and Arthemise(Malley) Maillet. Mrs. Arsenault attended school in New Castle, New Brunswick, Canada.

In 1957 she married her husband, Roland W. Arsenault. Roland and Sally were lovingly devoted to each other for 38 happy years. Family was always a first priority in their lives. He passed away Feb. 17, 1995.

She was a wonderful cook, well known for her homemade sweet rolls, tortiere pie, and apple dumplings. She enjoyed playing cards, gambling, Elvis Presley. She was a “die-hard Red Sox fan” and also enjoyed the “Wheel of Fortune” with Pat Sajak.

She is survived by three sons, Mark P. Arsenault and wife Audrey of Mexico, Roland M. Arsenault and wife Heidi of Mexico, Paul A. Arsenault of Scarborough; three daughters,

Darlene “Che” Arsenault of Mexico, Beverly A. Desjardins and husband Paul “Pete” of Springboro, Ohio, Peggy Sue Pulk and husband Bruce of Mexico; five brothers all residing in Canada, Zoel “Whistle” Maillet of Fredericton, New Brunswick, Felix Maillet of British Columbia, Blaine Maillet of Yukon Territory, David Maillet of Blackville, NB; five sisters also all from Canada, Muriel Hogan of Renous, NB, Ramona Shannon of Barrie, Ontario, Bernice Jardine of Blackville, NB, Shirley Maillet of Blackville, NB, Terry Crawford of Fredericton, NB; 10 grandchildren, Micel, Joel and Darrel Desjardins, Peter and Dean Arsenault, Jeremy and Cassandra Pulk, Tremor Arsenault, Jacob and Kelsey Arsenault; one great-granddaughter, Katelynne Williams; several nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by many close friends and relatives.

She was predeceased by both parents; her brother, John “Jack” Maillet; and sister, Marguerite “Margie” Maillet.
