1926 – 2003

PORTLAND – Theresa P. Coulombe, 77 of Meadow Road, Topsham, died Wednesday, Nov. 19, at Maine Medical Center.

She was born in Wallagrass on Jan. 18, 1926, a daughter of Thomas and Pheobe Ouellette Marin and was educated in the schools there. She later earned a GED at Mt. Ararat High School in Topsham. Mrs. Coulombe moved to Brunswick in 1941 and worked at the Cabot Mill.

On Nov. 28, 1946, she married Jacques J. Coulombe and they made their home in Topsham.

After raising her family she worked at W.T. Grants, Jay Brush, Health-Tex, and Laverdiere’s Drug Store. In 1994 she moved to Orlando, Fla., and worked at Publix Supermarket. She returned to Topsham in 2000 and has worked at Wendy’s until her death.

She was communicant of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Mrs. Coulombe was very family oriented and loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed knitting, reading, and trips with her daughters.

Surviving are five daughters, Jeannine Gilliland and her husband Michael of Beatrice, NE, Anita Kenopensky and her husband Michael of Bowdoin, Elizabeth Kinsman and her husband William of Topsham, Jacqueline Adams and her husband Robert of Topsham, and Barbara Coulombe of Augusta; seven sons, Thomas and his wife Carmen Coulombe of Lewiston, Francois and his wife Helena Coulombe of Hopkinsville, Ky., Antoine and his wife Yvonne of Topsham, Michael and his wife Gail Coulombe of Sidney, Pierre and his wife Lisa Coulombe of San Diego, Calif., James Coulombe of Richmond, Va., and Andrew and his wife Gigi Coulombe of South Portland; six sisters, Adrienne Martin of Saco, Leone Deprey of Soldier Pond, Albertine Deprey of Fort Kent, Anne Belanger and her husband Emile of St. Cloud, Fla., Alphena Curtis of Bristol, Conn., and Freda Cook and her husband Everett of Milo; four brothers, Bertrand and his wife Florence Marin of Fort Kent, Arthur and his wife Aurore Marin of Bristol, Conn., Leonard and his wife Cecile Marin of Clinton, and Leo and his wife Rella Marin of Bristol, Conn.; 27 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband Feb. 12, 1985; two daughters, Rosemarie Homovich July 1, 2002 and Dawn Marie Coulombe March 14, 1970; two sisters, Leona Michaud and Jeannette Saucier; and three brothers, Albert, Paul and Leon Marin.
