Bowdoin 1, Middlebury 0
MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – Meghan Gillis backhanded a goal at the 13:14 mark of the second period to notch the only goal Bowdoin needed to grab a 1-0 win from Middlebury College in women’s ice hockey Friday.
The Panthers came out strong and controlled a majority of the play for the game’s first 10 minutes.
Gillis had two opportunities in the first period, but Panther goalie Kati Madouros made to big saves to keep the Polar Bears off the board early.
Madouros kept the contest to a one-goal margin with 15 saves, while Nathalie Morgan made 10 stops for Bowdoin.
