1916-2003
LEWISTON – Constance M. “Connie” Belanger, 87, died Saturday, Nov. 22, at the Montello Heights Living Center, Lewiston. She was a resident of Forest Ave., Rumford, and had lived in the area for many years.
She was born in North Vassalboro on Nov. 12, 1916, a daughter of William and Mary (Dougherty) Miller, Sr. and graduated from Cony High School in Augusta, class of 1935.
She was a communicant of St. Athanasius-St John Church, a 50-year member of St. Timothy Circle # 504, Daughters of Isabella, a member of the Oxford County Extension Club, and enjoyed the Ladies Quilting Club.
She was married in Augusta on June 26, 1939 to the late Oliver J. “Joe” Belanger who died in Rumford on March 12, 1998.
Survivors include: three sons, David J. Belanger and wife, Betsy, of Andover, Donald J. Belanger and wife, Lisa, of Cumberland Center and Dennis J. Belanger and wife, Judy, of New Gloucester; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; six step great grandchildren; a brother Carlton Miller and wife, “Butch”, of Jay; two sisters, Helen Given and husband, Bob, of Augusta and Ruth Labato and husband, Frank, of Northampton, Mass. She was predeceased by brothers William Miller, Jr. and John Miller.
