AUBURN – Police on both sides of the river were looking for a man who robbed a Center Street convenience store Sunday night.

Sgt. Richard Coron of the Auburn police said the man walked into the Big Apple at 33 Center St. just after 5 p.m. Sunday and told the clerk that he had a gun. He herded the clerk into a back office and fled the store with an undisclosed amount of cash.

“She was in the back of the store, so she didn’t see which way he went when he left,” Coron said. “We don’t know if he went on foot or not.”

The man is described as Asian with a shaved head, between 5-foot-8-inches and 6-feet tall and dressed entirely in black.

“That was all she could give us,” Coron said.
