MEXICO – The Mexico Public Library held a pumpkin coloring contest in October open to children ages 2 to 12. The contest was divided into three age categories.

Approximately 40 pumpkins were entered in the contest. Library volunteers Beverly Melanson and Isabelle Fergola did the judging for the contest. Each winner received a book, candy, and other children also received a gift certificate for free roller skating, compliments of the Mexico Recreation Department.

Winners were: ages 2 to 5, first, Bryanna Berry; second, Cheyenne May; third, Hunter Merrill. Ages 6 to 9, first, Devon Hamel; second, Vermon Farrar; third, Becky Salatka. Ages 10 to 12, first Megan Noyes, second, Heidi Penley.
