AUBURN – Members of Danville Junction Grange 65 will meet on Friday, Nov. 28, for a 6:30 p.m. potluck supper. A business meeting will follow at 7:30, with bingo played at the close of the meeting. Members are asked to bring small unwrapped prizes. All members and guests are welcome.

Holiday meal

LEWISTON – Calvary United Methodist Church, 59 Sabattus St., will host a free homecooked Thanksgiving dinner, open to the public, at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 27.

Post meeting

LEWISTON – Longley-Dionne Post 9150, VFW, and Auxiliary will meet at noon Sunday, Nov. 30, at the Lewiston Elks Lodge, 1675 Lisbon St.

The agenda includes membership visits to the South Paris Veterans Nursing Home and Togus VA Hospital, update on the buddy poppies, scholarship raffle, and Voice of Democracy and Patriot Pens Awards.

The post is accepting applications from eligible veterans for membership. Lunch will be served.

Tree lighting

LEEDS – The Leeds Tree Lighting Ceremony will take place at 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 30, in Memorial Park, Leeds Center.

The Leeds Community Church will sponsor the annual event and all are invited. Christmas carols will be sung. The tree will be by the monument at the beginning of Church Hill Road.

Farmers’ market

LEWISTON – A small group of agricultural producers in the Lewiston-Auburn area are looking to start a farmers’ market in downtown Lewiston. They are looking for people who are interested in being vendors at the market, which they hope to start next summer.

Whether a full-time farmer, a basket-weaver on the side or occasional baker for the church bake sale, the group invites them to be part of the market. Any and all handcrafted, homemade or farm-grown goods and produce are welcome.

The group needs help planning and coordinating the market. For details call Sean Gambrel at 882-7552, extension 185.

Widows to meet

LISBON – The Lisbon Area Widow Fellowship will meet at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 1, at the Lisbon United Methodist Church, School Street, Lisbon Falls.

A potluck luncheon will be available at noon. A Christmas gift exchange will be held. Widows in the area are invited to attend.
