LEWISTON – Beacon Hospice and Palliative Care is accepting volunteer applications for its next training session to begin at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10, at the office, 55 Lisbon St., Suite 2600.
The seven-session, 21-hour training program will explore the volunteer hospice experience, focusing on a wide range of topics, including introduction to hospice, pain management, spirituality, family dynamics, communication, bereavement, and volunteer rights and responsibilities.
“We offer a comprehensive training program specifically designed to prepare our volunteers for the unique experience of hospice care,” said Volunteer Coordinator Donna Rousseau. “Our volunteers are important members of Beacon’s hospice team and are a valuable resource for our patients and their families. With that in mind, we want to give them best possible preparation for their volunteer work.”
To reserve space for the December training or for additional information about becoming a volunteer, contact Rousseau at 784-4242. Early reservations are encouraged as space is limited.
