FARMINGTON – A holiday auction will begin at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5, at the Granary Brew Pub to benefit Titcomb Mountain. Gift items will go on the auction block. All are welcome.

Festival of Trees

FARMINGTON – The Farmington Rotary Club will hold its annual Festival of Trees with free public viewing planned from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, at the Granary Restaurant. Trees, wreaths, kissing balls and silent auction items from local businesses available along with a $5,000 trip ticket raffle and a large Christmas Teddy Bear raffle.

A reception with light refreshments will follow the public viewing at 5 p.m. and the auction begins at 6. Absentee bids are welcome. The $5,000 trip ticket drawing will be held at the end of the evening.

Hospital celebration

FARMINGTON – A community holiday celebration will take place at Franklin Memorial Hospital on Saturday, Dec. 6, as part of Chester Greenwood Day. The celebration will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. in the Ben Franklin Center at the hospital and will include: craft room; kids gift shop, where children can buy gifts for $1 or less and wrap them; holiday cards where children in grades six and under can design and color a holiday card for this year’s holiday card contest; horse drawn wagon rides on the hospital campus; treasure chest; Santa appears from 2 to 4 p.m. and parents are welcome to bring their cameras. Refreshments will be served.

United Methodist Holiday fair

STRONG – Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus will visit the Strong United Methodist Church’s Holly Holiday Fair from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 6, at the church on Main Street. The fair will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and a lunch will be available at 11 a.m.

Among the many items highlighting the fair are wreaths, crafts, gifts, baked goods, fudge, jewelry, Rada knives, cookbooks and Sunday school crafts.

This year there will also be a silent auction table.

Henderson Memorial fair

FARMINGTON – The annual Christmas Fair at Henderson Memorial Baptist Church will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, at the church on Academy Street. Crafts, homemade candies and baked goods, a cookie walk and white elephant items will be featured.

Following the parade at 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., a luncheon will be held with either fish chowder or homemade macaroni and cheese dinners. The meals include coleslaw, homemade biscuits, beverage and apple crisp dessert for $6. A hot dog plate with chips and beverage will also be available.

Winter Wonderland

FARMINGTON – The second annual Winter Wonderland ham dinner and Christmas Fair will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5, at the St. Joseph Parish Hall, corner of Middle and Quebec Streets.

A ham dinner with pineapple stuffing and raisin sauce, scalloped potatoes, side dishes and rhubarb cake will be served from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. for $7 adults and $3.50 children. Fair items include a cookie walk, breads, pies, fudge and food items, craft and gift items.

FARMINGTON – Franklin County Arts and Crafts Association will hold their annual Christmas crafts fair from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6 at the Olsen Student Center at the University of Maine at Farmington. Admission is free and the event features a variety of orginal crafts and artwork.

Titcomb House

FARMINGTON – On Chester Greenwood Day, the Titcomb House will be open to the public from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 6, on Academy Street.

Prior to the open house, the Mount Blue Garden Club, under the direction of Emery Goff, will decorate the house for the holidays. Nancy Porter will welcome guests at the door as members, including historical society’s president Bob Flick and his wife, Nancy, give tours of the house. Refreshments will be served in the kitchen by Jean Dingley and Audrey Bergeron.

On permanent display in the sewing room is the wedding dress of Chester Greenwood’s wife, Isabelle. She made the dress for herself for their wedding which was held on Sept. 19, 1884. Chester Greenwood memorabilia will be on display in the dining room.

Frances Hardy and Patricia Mahony will be available to help anyone interested in becoming a member of the historical society.

Reich Museum breakfast

RANGELEY – Breakfast with Santa, Mrs. Claus and the elves will start at 8 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, at the Wilhelm Reich Museum on Dodge Pond Road. The elves will help participants make Christmas ornaments and crafts in Santa’s workshop. There will be Christmas cookies to decorate. Parents may bring their own cameras or have pictures taken with Santa for a fee.

The breakfast will include chocolate chip and blueberry pancakes served with syrup and sausages. Chefs include Ed and Zenna Inness and Cecelia Brown while elves Joan and Bill Cummings will serve the meal. The cost for breakfast is $4 adults and $2 for children.

Proceeds will benefit the programs at the Wilhelm Reich Museum.

Wilson Grange craft fair

WILTON – Wilson Grange will hold its craft fair from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, at the Grange hall on Main Street in East Wilton. Along with crafts, the fair also features baked goods and baked beans to go. Tables can be rented by calling 645-4848.
