1914 – 2003
WEST PARIS – Elizabeth “Betty” Yanush, 89, died Friday, Nov. 28, at the Ledgeview Living Center, West Paris. She was a resident of Yanush Drive, Mexico, and had lived in the area most of her life.
She was born in Lincoln, N.H. on March 8, 1914, the daughter of Charles and Julia Knupistis Aleck, and graduated from Mexico High School in 1932.
She was a communicant of St. Theresa Church in Mexico.
In 1938, she was married in Berlin, N.H. to the late Walter P. Yanush who died in West Paris on Jan. 25, 2002.
Survivors include a daughter, Charlene Burgi of East Andover; a son, Charles A. Yanush and his wife Susan of Greenfield; six grandchildren, Chuck, Lorinda and Alger Yanush, and Alexa, Julie and Katrine Burgi; two great-grandchildren, Perry Ann Morton of Mexico, and Tiffany Yanush of Milford.
She was predeceased by two sisters, Mary Nancy Aleck and Marion Aleck; two brothers, Charles and Alger Aleck; a grandson, Brian Yanush; and a nephew, Dale Aleck.
