I am writing in response to the letter from Beverly Bennett about the new highway garage in Buckfield (Oct. 29).

I am a taxpayer in Buckfield and attend town meetings. For the past few years, we have had articles in the warrant to set aside money for the garage. This year Article 42 in the warrant called for a vote to build the garage. It was voted at the town meeting to build the garage. Mrs. Bennett was not only there, she made a motion for a written ballot on this article, which was defeated. There is nothing underhanded about our town officials dealings.

We support our town officials and trust their actions when dealing with our town issues.
