ORONO – The University of Maine’s hockey freshman forward Luciano Aquino was named the Hockey East Superskills Hockey Rookie of the Month for November. He became the fourth Black Bear to be awarded a player of the month honor this season, joining Todd Jackson, Jimmy Howard, and Frank Doyle.

Aquino had an outstanding month for the Black Bears, scoring four goals and earning three assists in six games. He scored his first collegiate goal at Boston College Nov. 7. He scored two goals in a win over Northeastern on Nov. 14 and had two assists on Nov. 16 against UMass-Lowell. He was named the ITECH First Star in each game in addition to earning Hockey East Rookie of the Week honors Nov. 17.
